Walls' Latin-American Mission

Training Pastors in the Context of the Church in Latin America.

Home

GOD IS BRINGING REFORMATION TO THE SPANISH-SPEAKING WORLD AND WE GET TO BE A PART OF IT.

Bible-Based Missions

We are firmly committed to the centrality and sufficiency of Scripture for life, faith, and practice. For this reason, we want our mission work to be guided and regulated by Scripture. This manifests itself most clearly in how we seek to make our pastoral training thoroughly Scriptural. We want to invest in men who will be committed to Scripture and the Scripture’s balance, no matter the cost.

We believe that the best summary of the Bible’s teaching on its most important subjects can be found in the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689.

God-Glorifying Missions

It is this commitment to the authority of Scripture that fuels our church-based philosophy of missions, and the content of all of our teaching, and it is also this principle that establishes our primary aim as seeing God glorified among the nations. God’s glory is the ultimate aim for the Christian life and the life of the church, for this reason, it most certainly should be the ultimate aim of missions. To accomplish this aim, however, we believe it is imperative to regulate our life, belief, and practice by Scripture.

Church-Centered Missions

We believe firmly in the centrality of the local church in missions. For that reason, our mission has a local church foundation, a local church function, and a local church focus. From beginning to end, we want the local church to be central.

“so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.”

Ephesians 3:10

Local Church Foundation

We believe the local church is key in the sending, supporting, and overseeing of missions. For this reason, we are sent out and overseen by our local church, and we want the local churches that support us to be well-informed and involved. We understand that we are accountable to the local church that has ordained and commissioned us and also to those that support us.

Local Church Function

We carry out our ministry in the context of the local church, by submitting to our local church in Santo Domingo, providing training for pastors of local churches, helping churches to grow in maturity, and preparing men in the context of the church to plant or pastor. We train men in the context of the local church as they learn through the experience of being part of the life and service of the local church.

Local Church Focus

We want to see existing churches strengthened and new churches planted with a firm, biblical basis and a clear understanding of the nature and commitments of a local church. We want to train pastors and everyday Christians so that we can have solid, biblical, God-glorifying, gospel-preaching churches all across Latin America, starting in Ecuador.
