Meet Dennis Valle

When were you converted?

At the end of 2012 there was a desire in me to know God, when a friend invited me to her church to which I agreed. When I went to church there was a struggle in my soul to leave that place because of the Word I was hearing. I meditated a lot on why that was happening to me; I knew that something was not right with me. There was a time when I experienced conviction in the church; I was facing what the Lord had done on the cross and what He wanted to do in my life, out of which I left with heavy thoughts because once again I wanted to reject it. After this He confronted me with my sin, He tore me to pieces. I felt like the most repugnant being in this world, at that very moment I approached for the first time with a broken heart before the Lord, I asked Him to forgive me for the life I was leading far from Him and I asked Him not to leave me, because I wanted to belong to Him. My life from that moment was not the same, many things changed and today thanks to His faithfulness we are loving Him and growing more in Him.

Since I became a Christian, the Lord has placed in my heart the longing to serve Him in the ministry of the Word; there is a desire in my heart to preach and proclaim the gospel to all people, as well as to care for my brothers. Today I have a desire for the service of the pastorate which grows every day. If it is His will to confirm my calling through His church, all we want to do is obey His will.

How has your experience in the Pastor School been?

I am grateful to the Lord for having looked upon me with grace and allowing me today to be part of this learning process in the Pastor School, where my character has been formed academically and spiritually. Learning about theology, interpreting biblical texts, how to preach and exposit His Word in a clear and faithful way are precious results that have been cultivated in my life thanks to this program. But, what has impacted me the most in this time is how the Lord through my teachers teaches me to truly live the gospel. Loving God in an intimate way, learning to love my wife and children according to the Scriptures and my brothers and sisters in the faith are aspects that I have been taught by example. My family, my beloved wife Grace, my daughter Amelita and I have been able to grow in piety by seeing the precious example of families consecrated to God, this is much more than what could be learned in a book or seminary, this is Practical Theology! We love this time because of this experience that has impacted our lives.
I must also tell you that the way in which God has been working in my soul during this time has impacted my life. His patience and mercy in spite of my shortcomings, has left my heart eternally grateful to HIM. In all this time besides learning His Word I have also been exposed to some sins that I have carried in my life, however, in spite of this God has not treated me according to my sins, but with a tender and loving hand He has shown them to me and has been leading me to be restored and taking me to His green pastures to be conformed to His Son Jesus Christ. This process has been just as Psalm 103:10-12 says, “He has not dealt with us according to our iniquities, Nor rewarded us according to our sins.” I am so indebted to my God for all his goodness.
Finally, my family and I are very grateful for you, your spiritual and economic support has been a great blessing, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! May our Lord bless you greatly and supply all your needs according to his infinite mercies. We thank God for you because your support has been very valuable and without it this process would not be possible.

What are your plans for ministry afterward the program?

After this Pastor School process, my wife and I have planned to stay in Santo Domingo for a while until we can discover what the Lord’s plans are for our ministry. There are some possibilities such as staying in Santo Domingo and serving here in our IBGS church, or going to some mission of our church among these possibilities is Quito, Atacames or Manta, we do not discard the idea of going to Guayaquil where we were born and thus be able to serve there, may God guide us in this decision!
I have the desire to serve the local church as a pastor, I know it is a very high and difficult task, but I am also convinced that the Lord strengthens and prepares his incapable servants for the fulfillment of his wonderful plan which is to sanctify and beautify his church for the return of Christ. I hope God allows and my gifts can be verified by his church in due time if it is his will.

What are ways that others can pray for you?

My brothers, help us by praying for these two things, so that the Lord will make it clear to us where we should go after this process, and also so that if the Lord has called me to the ministry the church can see it. Additionally I would ask you to pray for us so that the Lord will continue to polish us more and finish his work in us. We want to glorify Him and we want to be ready for HIM and His work. We want to be approved workers who use the Word of truth well.
