When were you converted?
My name is Oscar Bolaños, I was born on September 12, 1985, I am 36 years old and I currently live in Tulcan, Ecuador. I have been happily married to Johanna Burbano for 11 years, and the Lord in His providence has given us two beautiful children Nikolas, 9 years old and Benjamin, 6 years old.
I began to attend a Christian church at the age of 17; however, I believe that my true conversion was years later, in the middle of a very difficult moment in my life, by the grace of God He reached me and changed my condition of sin and evil.
From that moment on I began to have a deep desire in my heart to serve the Lord and to give my life completely to His service.
By His grace, I began to serve in my local church as a youth leader and also in the worship team of my church, after some time I began to teach the congregation and be part of the pastoral team of my church.
My greatest desire is to equip myself with theological and practical tools in order to be a blessing to the Church and to serve the Lord responsibly, and above all by honoring His Word.

How has your experience in the Pastor School been?
Undoubtedly the time that the Lord has allowed me to live in the Pastoral School has been extraordinary and a great blessing not only for my life but also for my family. During this time the Lord has not only equipped me in the theological and doctrinal aspect, but also the Lord has worked on my character, breaking my pride and leading me to trust and depend much more on Him.
On the other hand, having qualified teachers like Brother Taylor Walls and Pastor Jorge Rodriguez, who through the knowledge that God has given them and their example of life, has been a great blessing for me, each class taught has been a challenge since I have been able by the grace of God to know glorious truths of the Scriptures and I have also acquired the necessary tools for a correct interpretation of the biblical text and how to communicate that truth to the people of God in a clear and simple way.
I still have much to learn, but the Pastor School has been essential in my preparation for the ministry, but above all in my personal relationship with God, for this reason I am deeply grateful to the Lord for this time that He has arranged for my life and my family.

What are your plans for ministry afterwards?
In the month of January with the help and guidance of Pastor Jorge Rodriguez the church constitution was established in my local church in the city of Tulcan – Ecuador, where once the ecclesiastical policy was approved, the nominative consultation for the pastoral ministry took place. By the grace of the Lord the church unanimously nominated me as a candidate for the ministry and at this time I am in the process of observation. If the Lord permits, once I finish the program in August we will return to our city, where I will begin to serve as a pastor full time. The official date of my installation as pastor in Tulcan is set for July 24th, please pray for my family and the church as this date approaches.
How can others pray for you?
- I ask all my brothers to pray for my life and my family that the Lord will make me a man qualified for the ministry, equipping and enabling me to exercise the pastorate with responsibility and fear before Him.
- Also for the members of the Iglesia Bíblica Remanente (Remnant Bible Church) of Tulcan, may the Lord grant them the discernment and maturity to observe in my life and family what the Bible requires of a man of God.
- For my studies in the Pastoral School, may the Lord give me wisdom in these last few months of learning so that I may grow both in knowledge and godliness.
- For my teachers, may the Lord give them greater knowledge and wisdom for the preparation of their classes.
